Wholesale FAQ

The questions buyers ask us most often, answered directly. If yours is not here, ask us — we will answer it and add it to this page.

How do I place a wholesale order?

Request a quote through the website, by email or on WhatsApp, telling us the product, the quantity, the destination port and any quality specification. Once we confirm availability we send a pro-forma invoice covering pricing, packaging, Incoterms and an estimated shipping window. Most buyers request samples at this point. The lot is reserved in your name once the deposit is received.

What is your minimum order quantity?

For green coffee the standard minimum is one 20ft container, approximately 18 to 19.2 tonnes. We accept less-than-container-load orders from around 1 tonne for buyers testing a new origin, at a higher per-kilo cost. Minimums for honey, sesame and avocado vary by season — ask us. Full detail is on the Minimum Order Details page.

Can I get samples before committing?

Yes, and we would encourage it. Samples are 200g to 500g of green coffee from the lot under discussion, sent with a full specification sheet. The coffee is generally free on genuine commercial enquiries; courier cost is usually met by the buyer and always quoted first. See the Request Coffee Samples page.

What payment terms do you offer?

A deposit is normally required to confirm an order, with the balance due before shipment unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Payment is by approved banking channels. Terms for established repeat buyers can be discussed once a trading history exists.

Which Incoterms do you trade on?

Most commonly FOB Djibouti or CIF your destination port. Ex-Works and CFR are available on request. Whichever applies is stated explicitly on the pro-forma invoice.

How long does shipping take?

From confirmed order to port of loading is typically three to six weeks. Ocean transit is roughly three to four weeks to Northern Europe, two to three to the Gulf, and four to six to East Asia and North America. Customs clearance and vessel schedules sit outside our control.

What certifications and documents come with a shipment?

Commercial invoice and packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate issued by the Ethiopian authorities, and quality and weight certificates. If your destination requires anything further, tell us at quotation stage so it is built into the timeline.

What happens if the coffee is not as specified?

Contact us immediately with photographs and, where available, the survey report. Claims relating to defective goods or goods that do not match the agreed specification are accepted within a reasonable period of receipt, as set out in our Terms of Service. Raising it while the container is still at the port makes resolution far quicker.

Do you ship to my country?

We ship across the United Kingdom, the European Union, the Middle East and Asia, and onward to North America. If you are importing somewhere we have not shipped to before it is almost always workable — tell us early, because documentation lead times can differ.

Can I visit, or see the supply chain?

Yes. We buy at washing-station and cooperative level and are happy to discuss origin visits for buyers with a serious volume commitment. Talk to the export team about timing — the harvest window from October to February is the period worth seeing.
