What we can realistically ship, why the minimums are what they are, and how to buy if you are not yet ready for a full container.
Export is a fixed-cost business. Documentation, phytosanitary inspection, customs formalities and inland transport to Djibouti cost roughly the same whether a container is full or a quarter full.
Below a certain volume those fixed costs dominate the price per kilo and the coffee stops being competitive for you. The minimums below are the point at which the economics still work in your favour — not an arbitrary barrier.
Our standard minimum for green coffee is one full container load, which for a 20ft container is approximately 18 to 19.2 tonnes — around 300 to 320 bags of 60kg.
For buyers testing a new origin or a new profile, we accept less-than-container-load orders from approximately 1 tonne. The per-kilo cost is higher because the fixed costs are spread across less coffee, and we will show you that difference plainly in the quotation rather than hiding it in the unit price.
Minimums vary by product, by season and by the packaging you need. Natural honey, sesame seed and avocado each have their own handling, shelf-life and phytosanitary requirements.
Rather than publish a number that will be wrong by the time you read it, tell us the product and the volume you have in mind and we will confirm the current minimum and the pricing at that level.
We can consolidate more than one coffee into a single container — several regions, several grades, or a mix of washed and natural. This is a common way for roasters to fill a container while keeping a varied menu.
Each line within a mixed lot carries its own minimum, typically from around 1 tonne, and the whole consignment travels on one set of documents. Tell us the split you want and we will price it.

Options usually include consolidating with another buyer shipping to the same port, starting with an LCL order to establish the relationship, or timing your purchase with a larger consignment already scheduled for your region. None of these are unusual and none require you to pretend to be bigger than you are.
